A few years ago, Cores seized the opportunity to lease a section of quay in Beverwijk, providing access and sufficient depth for loading seagoing vessels.

The Beverwijk quay has enabled us to offer alternative transport solutions, such as for wood shipments. In Scandinavia, there was a significant demand for B-grade wood for energy recovery through combustion, supporting district heating systems in Swedish cities. However, the supplier for this project was not located near a port, and transporting the wood by container or walking floor directly to Sweden was not the most efficient option logistically.

By utilizing the Beverwijk quay, the wood could be transported domestically to
the quay and then shipped by sea to the Swedish buyer.

This project also led to the establishment of a partnership: S&C.
